What your agent can do on Voice

Voice is the most human channel. Your agent handles both inbound and outbound calls with natural, real-time conversation.

Inbound call handling

Your agent answers calls to your Twilio number instantly — 24/7. No hold music, no menus, no waiting. Customers speak naturally and get answers immediately.

Outbound call campaigns

Automatically call a list of contacts. The agent conducts structured conversations — qualification, appointment setting, or follow-up — at scale.

Real-time speech-to-text

Powered by Deepgram Nova-3, the fastest and most accurate STT model available. Every word transcribed in milliseconds, not seconds.

Natural voice synthesis

The agent speaks in a natural, lifelike voice — not robotic. Choose from multiple voices to match your brand personality.

Live call transcription

Every call is transcribed in real time and stored in your conversation history. Review what was said, when, and by whom.

Barge-in and interruption

Callers can interrupt the agent mid-sentence — just like a real conversation. No waiting for the agent to finish speaking before you can talk.

Set up in 15 minutes

Requires a Twilio account with a voice-enabled phone number. Twilio usage is billed separately.

01

Get a Twilio voice number

5 min

Log into Twilio Console. Go to Phone Numbers and buy a voice-enabled number. This must be a different number than WhatsApp. Copy your Account SID and Auth Token.

02

Enable voice in AnyDialog

3 min

In your agent settings, go to Integrations, find Voice, click Enable. Paste your Twilio credentials and phone number. Optionally configure greeting message, voice language, and caller whitelist.

03

Choose a voice provider (optional)

2 min

Default: Deepgram (included). Optional premium providers: OpenAI Realtime (lower latency) or ElevenLabs (natural voice). Configure in Voice settings.

04

Test with a phone call

1 min

Call your Twilio number from any phone. You will hear the greeting, then speak to your agent. Speech is converted to text, AI responds, and the response is spoken back.

How a voice call looks

Every call is transcribed live. The agent and caller alternate naturally — no push-to-talk, no fixed menus.

Good to know

Voice is the most powerful channel — and the one with the most moving parts. Here is what to expect.

  • Twilio account and phone number required. Voice calls work through Twilio. You need a paid Twilio phone number with voice capability. This is billed separately by Twilio.
  • Voice minutes counted against plan. Each plan includes a set number of voice minutes per month. Starter: 30 min, Professional: 120 min, Enterprise: 500 min. Additional minutes may require an add-on.
  • Speech latency of 1-2 seconds. There is a brief delay between speaking and hearing the AI response. This is due to speech-to-text and text-to-speech processing. Premium providers reduce this.
  • Different number than WhatsApp. Voice and WhatsApp cannot share the same Twilio phone number. You need a separate number for each.
